This is a science-fiction adventure book with funny moments in the microbial world between the micro-buddies and Karen the female scientist, and it is also educational at the same time because the reader gets to know about and understand how basic microbiology research is done, what the daily life in a science lab is like, and on the other spectrum - about microbial ecology. There are microorganisms that talk to Karen (which is the fiction part and the only fiction part) in her research culture flask that she is studying. They are fun, they are adventurous. Their microbial world is filled with mutual and competitive relationships, akin to how the human world is.
